Marissa Shams-White, PhD, L.Ac, MPH, holds a doctorate in Nutritional Epidemiology from the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Her doctoral work focused on lifestyle and environmental assessment tools in relation to adiposity for military populations. She also holds a MPH with a concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics from the Tufts University School of Medicine and a MS in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Her research interests include dietary, physical activity, and other lifestyle behaviors and chronic disease; health and wellness promotion in the military; and the role of complementary and alternative medicine in disease prevention. She is currently a Cancer Prevention Fellow at the National Cancer Institute.
