Tara Paradie joined the faculty in the Physical Therapy Department in 2016, and is currently an Associate Clinical Professor and the Director of Clinical Education. She teaches content relevant to preparation of students entering clinical practice, and in the pediatric courses. Tara completed a Doctor of Health Science degree from Drexel University in 2022, and MSPT from Springfield College in 1994. Additionally, she has completed a certificate in Leadership and Management from Wharton School of Business and a coaching certification in Positive Psychology, Health and Well-Being from the College of Executive Coaching.

Tara’s clinical practice originally focused on a patient population consisting of complex neurological diagnoses, and progressed to a concentration in pediatrics in both a school-based and home care setting. Her experiences stretched internationally to support short-term pediatric educational experiences in India, Romania and Ecuador, and she travels with students internationally for broadening experiences in physical therapy.

As an educator, Tara utilizes a strengths-based approach to deepen student self-reflective learning and behaviors to support students in gaining a meta-cognitive approach to clinical reasoning and learning barriers.

As an elected member of the ACAPT Clinical Education Commission and the New England Consortium of Clinical Educators, Tara continues to remain focused on bringing relevant clinical education learning opportunities to her students with thoughtful and innovative approaches.
