Wesley Brian Renfro, Ph.D., is the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of New England. He is dedicated to promoting the success of students while ensuring the vitality and relevance of the liberal arts in the 21st century.
Renfro has a decade of leadership experience in higher education. Most recently, he served as the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Strategic Initiatives at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. His previous roles include Associate Dean at Quinnipiac University, Director of Core Curriculum, and Chair of the Department of Political Science and Legal Studies at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford, New York.
He specializes in U.S. presidents and foreign policy, with numerous publications on empire, presidential decision-making, and strategy. He holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Connecticut, as well as a bachelor's degree in history and philosophy from Heidelberg University.
