Tuition Refund Policy Appeals
If you feel your extenuating circumstances justify an exception to UNE’s institutional Tuition Refund Policy for your program, you have the right to appeal your charges. The appeal will be reviewed by the Tuition Appeals Committee.
The refund policy/financial petition is for tuition only; housing and meal plan charges, if applicable, are not included in this process.
The committee meets monthly. In order for your appeal to be reviewed, the following must be on file the week prior to the committee meeting.
- Completed Financial Petition Form (PDF)
- Written appeal (i.e. letter) from the student, along with any supporting documentation
- Healthcare Provider Verification Form (PDF) (if the appeal is due to medical circumstances)
The following conditions apply:
- Students must be withdrawn from the university or from a course(s) to submit an appeal
- The appeal must be submitted no later than six (6) months after leaving the University.
- If using Financial Aid against total charges, the student must refer to Financial Aid Return to Title IV Policy according to the program (Select Undergraduate R2T4 or Graduate/Professional R2T4).
All decisions are final.
