After spending three complete years at UNE, I can firmly state that the school has met, and even exceeded, my expectations. Through my perspective as a student, the Chemistry Department takes two primary roles at UNE. First, it offers a series of challenging and exciting courses in all branches of chemistry, taught by a group of dedicated faculty members. And second, the department provides a vast array of research opportunities. Each professor is always working on one or more research projects throughout the year, and all of these projects have openings for student participation. There are also additional opportunities to become a peer tutor in chemistry (and many other subjects) at UNE's [Student Academic Success Center], as well as to help lead review sessions in general/organic chemistry and physics on various nights of the week.
