Steps to Get Your Student Visa
Once an international applicant has been accepted to UNE and has paid the initial deposit, you will be contacted by a Designated School Official (DSO) from the Global Education Program.
You will nee to provide the DSO with the below information.
Scanned Copy of Valid Passport
Please send only the pages with your photograph and personal information.
Proof of Funding
You must show proof of funding to cover tuition, room and board, books, medical insurance, and student fees.
SEVIS Transfer Form (if applicable)
If you are currently attending another U.S. institution, or you have recently graduated from a U.S. institution, you may have an active Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) record. If relevant, the DSO will email you a SEVIS Transfer Form, which will facilitate the transfer of your SEVIS record from your previous institution.
Completed International Student Supplemental Application
This form will be emailed to you by the DSO.
After receiving and reviewing the requested information and documentation, the DSO will issue you a Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status, commonly referred to as Form I-20. Included with Form I-20 will be country-specific instructions for applying for the F-1 student visa from a U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad.
Students holding Canadian citizenship are not required to schedule a visa appointment prior to entry to the U.S. Canadians present the Form I-20 to the U.S. Custom and Border Protection officer when entering the U.S.
