College Aspiration Tours

To increase college aspirations among local children, UNE hosts local middle schoolers on campus and invites them to attend short mock lectures while they tour campus facilities.

Give Back and Get Lit

The Office of Citizenship and Civic Engagement (OCCE) collaborates with Heart of Biddeford, the sophomore class council, and the Rotaract Club to coordinate a local annual holiday event called Give Back and Get Lit. This provides students the opportunity to hang Christmas lights in downtown Biddeford and assemble donated goods into care packages that are distributed to individuals in the community that are in need.

Non-Profit Networking Fair

OCCE collaborates with the Academic and Career Advising Center to host a Non-Profit Networking Fair. Local business representatives are invited to meet with students to inform them about internship and job opportunities.

Spring Clean Up

OCCE, in collaboration with the junior class council, organizes an annual spring clean-up in Mechanics park, which was adopted by OCCE through Biddeford's adopt a park program in the Spring of 2021.
