Host a Sustainability Fellow
The UNE North Summer Sustainability Fellowship program offers local municipalities, businesses, and nonprofit organizations the opportunity to host dedicated UNE students and recent graduates. By partnering with us, your organization can collaborate with a dedicated fellow on a custom-designed sustainability project that aligns with your goals, driving meaningful impact within your community.
UNE sustainability fellows are mentored by individuals from the host organization and advised by a program team at UNE. Host organizations and fellows co-create a work plan that guides the fellows’ work over the course of the summer, with designated tasks, duties, and deliverables that also allow flexibility to adapt as needed over the course of the project.

UNE North Advisory Council
The UNE North Advisory Council is a diverse group of leaders from local, regional, and North Atlantic/Arctic communities, offering expert guidance on critical issues and opportunities spanning from local to global scales. The council plays a crucial role in shaping UNE North’s strategic direction by identifying emerging regional challenges that can be addressed through our education and research programs, leveraging the university’s infrastructure and culture of collaboration.

University of the Arctic
The University of the Arctic (UArctic) is a cooperative network of universities, colleges, research institutes, and other organizations concerned with education and research in and about the North. The University of New England has been a member since September 2018.
The network curates existing strategies and toolkits, supports their optimization and customization for specific bioregions, and provides programming such as webinars and symposia to disseminate project-based work and its impacts on the UArctic community.
